William “Bill” Sweeney
William “Bill” Sweeney is a special advisor to the provost at Florida State University.
He previously served as the treasurer of the Florida State University Research Foundation, the director of bond finance for the state of Florida and an investment banker with a major New York underwriting firm. During his banking career, Sweeney was integral to financing projects valued at more than $40 billion.
He has served on the boards of Innovation Park, Habitat for Humanity and the Leon County Library Foundation. Sweeney also served on the Audit Committee for the State Board of Administration, which oversees a $140 billion fund.
Sweeney is a graduate of Kenyon College, the University of Cincinnati College of Law and the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania.
