The FSU Real Estate Foundation recognizes that an individual's Social Security number is a unique form of identification that can be used to obtain sensitive information. While the FSU Real Estate Foundation must collect Social Security numbers under certain circumstances to accurately and efficiently perform its duties and function as an educational institution, the FSU Real Estate Foundation does not require FSU employees to submit their Social Security number for reimbursement purposes. In the case of FSU employees, a current FSU employee ID is acceptable.
Due to the sensitive nature of an individual's Social Security number, the FSU Real Estate Foundation only collects Social Security numbers for:
- Identification and verification
- Billing and payments
- Tax reporting
- Independent contractors
This Social Security number collection statement has been prepared by FSU Real Estate Foundation in compliance with Section 119.071(5), Florida Statutes (2007). (January 2010)
